MCMS Tuesday Staff Update - May 14, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

We are getting close!  Thank you for navigating this last few days of school, we know it is a wild ride.  We look forward to starting our awards ceremonies on Thursday, please let us know if you have any questions about the logistics with those days.  Good luck to our Algebra 1 students as they take the EOC tomorrow, we know you will do great!

    • Thursday:  6th Grade Awards @ 8:00 AM in Big Gym and Beta Club Inductions at 6:00 PM
    • Friday: 7th Grade Awards @ 8:00 AM in Big Gym
  • Happy Birthday! We wish a very happy birthday to those who celebrate this week!
    • No Birthdays (5/7)

Staff Action Items

  • End-of-Year Checkout - Here is the End-of-Year Checkout Form, a hard copy will be placed in your box as well.  End-of-Year Reminders 
  • End of the Year Meetings with Dobyns - As we close the year out, I look forward to having our End of the Year Meetings with staff.  Here is the link to schedule your End of the Year Meeting with me.  Hearing your feedback is important in learning how we can grow as a school, I can grow as a leader, and any other ideas that you may have.  This is not required but I would love to sit down with all staff at some point before you leave for the summer.  
  • Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.  

Additional Reminders

  • Grade - See reminders from Jared.  Please work with those students that have borderline grades.  This is a great time to give students the opportunity to complete missing work that will assist them in passing your class.
  • Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.

    • Tuesday: Field Day and MCMS Archery Team Fundraiser Pick Up - 5:00 - 7:00 PM

    • Thursday:  LAST DAY OF STUDENTS!! Half Day for Students 11:30 AM Dismissal, and End of the Year Social @ 1:00 PM
    • Friday: MCHS Graduation, Teacher Workday, and End-of-Year Checkout Due by 11:00 AM
    Professional Learning- Fourth Quarter :
    Below are the remaining Wednesday Professional Learning dates for the Fourth quarter. I will send additional information and reminders.

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all of our MCMS Mom's have had a great day and enjoyed some much deserved pampering today!  We have made it to the single digits, only NINE more days of school left!  We are excited to kick off our Awards Ceremonies this week, please reach out to Wendy if you have any questions or needs.   We had a fun 8th Grade Dance on Friday night, thank you to all of the staff who worked hard in putting on this great event!  The students enjoyed getting dressed up and having one final dance together before high school.     MCMS Tuesday Staff Update - May 7, 2024

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!  I hope you have had a great week and enjoyed the treats for Teacher Appreciation Week!  We are counting down the days until the end of the year, it will be here before we know it.  Let us know if you have any questions about events taking place over the last two weeks of school.  12 days to go, we can do it! Congratulations MCMS TOY and SSEOY! We would like to once again congratulate Honey Wilson for being voted 2024-2025 Teacher of the year and Jonathan Butler for being voted 2024-2025 Support Staff Employee of the Year!  We are thankful for your impact on our school! Teacher Appreciation Week 2024 We hope you enjoy a Popcorn and Water Bar tomorrow after testing, courtesy of MCMS PTO!  The bar will be set up in the 7th grade conference room.  Enjoy!     MCMS Staff Update - March 18 - 22, 2024

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy St. Patrick's Day Weekend!  It was a very successful week of benchmark testing!  There were a lot of gains by our students and they were so proud of their accomplishments.  It was inspiring to hear the students talk among themselves about their scores and how much they grew.  That is directly related to the emphasis you are putting on this instructional tool.   (I thought he looked a little like me, I am bald according to our students!) I also want to say thank you and congratulations, we reached our school i-Ready Minutes on Task and Lessons Passed goals for the month of February!  You have done a great job tracking our students and holding them accountable for their work with this program.  Keep up the good work, we don't want to let up now.
