MCMS Tuesday Staff Update - May 7, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!  I hope you have had a great week and enjoyed the treats for Teacher Appreciation Week!  We are counting down the days until the end of the year, it will be here before we know it.  Let us know if you have any questions about events taking place over the last two weeks of school.  12 days to go, we can do it!

Congratulations MCMS TOY and SSEOY!

We would like to once again congratulate Honey Wilson for being voted 2024-2025 Teacher of the year and Jonathan Butler for being voted 2024-2025 Support Staff Employee of the Year!  We are thankful for your impact on our school!



Teacher Appreciation Week 2024

We hope you enjoy a Popcorn and Water Bar tomorrow after testing, courtesy of MCMS PTO!  The bar will be set up in the 7th grade conference room.  Enjoy!


Mental Health Spirit Week

We will begin promoting Mental Health Spirit Week next week, 5/13-5/17.  This is in honor of May being Mental Health Awareness Month.  We will be sending this out to all of our students and families later this week.

    • Wednesday: SC Ready Testing - Math, start OBOS, and Leadership Meeting
    • Thursday:  SC Ready Testing - Writing and MCMS Band Concert @ 6:00 PM
    • Friday: English 1 Writing Exam and 8th Grade Dance 5:30-7:30 PM Cafeteria
  • Happy Birthday! We wish a very happy birthday to those who celebrate this week!

Staff Action Items

  • Computer Take Up - Please review the email from Stacey Templin regarding final computer return.  
  • Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.  I will be following up to see individual progress on these modules.  I will send reminders to those who have not completed there required modules.

Additional Reminders

  • Grade Due Date - Final grades will need to be submitted by May 22nd.  
  • Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all of our MCMS Mom's have had a great day and enjoyed some much deserved pampering today!  We have made it to the single digits, only NINE more days of school left!  We are excited to kick off our Awards Ceremonies this week, please reach out to Wendy if you have any questions or needs.   We had a fun 8th Grade Dance on Friday night, thank you to all of the staff who worked hard in putting on this great event!  The students enjoyed getting dressed up and having one final dance together before high school. I may have missed something in this update, please reach out if you have any questions about the end of the year events, summer school, summer activities, or anything else.  There is a lot going on and we want you to have the information you need!     MCMS Staff Update - March 18 - 22, 2024

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy St. Patrick's Day Weekend!  It was a very successful week of benchmark testing!  There were a lot of gains by our students and they were so proud of their accomplishments.  It was inspiring to hear the students talk among themselves about their scores and how much they grew.  That is directly related to the emphasis you are putting on this instructional tool.   (I thought he looked a little like me, I am bald according to our students!) I also want to say thank you and congratulations, we reached our school i-Ready Minutes on Task and Lessons Passed goals for the month of February!  You have done a great job tracking our students and holding them accountable for their work with this program.  Keep up the good work, we don't want to let up now.
