MCMS Staff Update - November 13 - 17, 2023

Good Afternoon MCMS,

We hope everyone had a great Friday and we would like to wish you a very Happy Weekend! Thank you for finishing the week on a strong and positive way.  It was a VERY busy Friday for everyone and we appreciate all you did for your students, grade level, content, and our school!  Stay warm this weekend and I hope everyone enjoys some time to rest.

Once again, we would just like to thank all of you who were involved in our Veterans Day Breakfast and Assembly.  It was a very moving program and a great way to honor our Veterans.  We would like to thank all of those who have Veterans in your family.  We are thankful for their sacrifice and service to our country.  We wish you a Happy Veterans Day!

Make sure you are looking over the 2023-2024 MCMS Calendar for current activities and events on campus.  If we have any changes to the calendar, we will make sure to let everyone know.

Weekly Reminders

Welcome New MCMS Chorus Teacher- We would like to officially welcome Mrs. Gwendolyn Stroble to MCMS!  Mrs. Stroble will be starting with us on Monday and leading our chorus program.  Stop by the chorus room and welcome her to MCMS!

American Education Week- Next week, we look forward to celebrating all those who work in our schools and provide amazing support for our students.  The saying, "it takes a village" is right!  From our bus drivers, to cafeteria workers, teachers, and support staff, each of you has a key role in growing our students.  Thank You!

AI Presentation- For those of you interested in the AI presentation that I referenced during team meetings on Tuesday.  Here is the link for you to check out some of the links and resources that you can use in planning for your classes.

Semester 2 Schedule Proposal - Please take a few minutes to provide your feedback on the proposal of moving all "alternative" schedule days to one day (Wednesdays) each week.  Please fill out the Semester 2 Schedule Proposal Form by Monday, November 13, 2023.  Thank you for being part of the decision making process at MCMS!

Fall Fundraiser-We will begin our Fall Fundraiser on Monday.  I will be putting the envelopes from the Hat Day collection in your rooms this weekend.  Each day we will collect those envelopes.  Help encourage students to bring in lose change each day. 

From the parent update: The MCMS PTO would like to announce our Fall School-Wide Fundraiser will be starting on Monday November 13th.  This year we will be raising funds for MCMS teacher support, a new projector and screen for our gymnasium (we began raising funds for this last year), and updating our outdoor areas.  This fundraiser will be a five day homeroom donation competition.  We are asking students to bring lose change and cash donations to your homeroom teacher. The winning homerooms will earn the right to "Pie a Principal!"  

Interims Printed Tuesday- Please read over the email from Jared regarding interims.  Interims for 2nd Quarter will be printed on Tuesday and passed out on Wednesday.  Thank you for making sure all students receive a copy of their interim.
