MCMS Tuesday Staff Update - November 14, 2023

Good Afternoon MCMS,

We hope you are having a great day and a Happy American Education Week!  The treats this week are a small token of our appreciation for the amazing job that everyone does for our students, school, and community.  Thank you for making MCMS an unbelievable place for students to succeed!

Tuesday Updates and Reminders:
  • This Week: 
    • Wednesday: Professional Learning - IDM @ 3:30 PM in the Cafeteria
    • Wednesday: Interims go home
    • Thursday: Thanksgiving Family Lunch
    • Thursday: MCMS and MCHS Chorus Concert at 6:00 PM in the Big Gym
  • Happy Birthday! We wish a very happy birthday to those who celebrate this week!

  • Professional Learning:  We will have our next IDM session tomorrow at 3:30 PM in the cafeteria.
  • Thanksgiving Lunch Logistics: Tomorrow we will send additional logistics out for Thursdays, Thanksgiving Family Lunch. Things will run very similar to Grits for Grands.  Guests and their students will eat in the main part of the cafeteria and we will have all remaining students and teachers in the space in front of the media center.  We will also open the outdoor porch area for classes.  We will attempt to get our guests through the line early.  Thank you for any adjustments and your flexibility!
  • Semester 2 Schedule Proposal: Thank you to the 19 people who have responded to our Semester 2 Schedule Proposal Form.  If you have not responded, please do so before the end of the day tomorrow.  I have adjusted the settings on the form to make it anonymous.  The additional feedback has been very helpful and we look forward to taking all of the information to help guide any change.
  • 2nd Quarter Interims:  Thank you for passing out 2nd quarter interims to your students tomorrow.  
  • Homeroom Fundraiser Competition:  Continue to promote students donating to this fundraiser.  The top three Homerooms will be invited to pie Eric, Jared, and me on Monday November 20th!  Teachers of winning homerooms can decide who gets to Pie A Principal, you can draw a name or any method you decide.  We will invite the winning homerooms to the gym on Monday!
  • Substitute Information: If you have a planned absence, please make sure you communicate with your Related Art faculty member to help cover HR and a computer ready from the media center.  Please contact Mrs. Whitley about Enrichment coverage. 
  • Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know today.

Good Afternoon MCMS, We hope you had a great day!  The results are back from i-Ready testing and our students showed amazing growth!  Thank you for developing instructional plans that engage and challenge our students to grow.  I would also like to thank you for your work during enrichment time, your individual conferencing and emphasis on math this semester really showed in the results. MCMS Staff Update - May 13 -17, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all of our MCMS Mom's have had a great day and enjoyed some much deserved pampering today!  We have made it to the single digits, only NINE more days of school left!  We are excited to kick off our Awards Ceremonies this week, please reach out to Wendy if you have any questions or needs.   We had a fun 8th Grade Dance on Friday night, thank you to all of the staff who worked hard in putting on this great event!  The students enjoyed getting dressed up and having one final dance together before high school. I may have missed something in this update, please reach out if you have any questions about the end of the year events, summer school, summer activities, or anything else.  There is a lot going on and we want you to have the information you need! Good Evening MCMS, I hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving break!  We have an exciting few weeks in December and look forward to several fun dress days to get us in the holiday spirit!  We are also excited to see the great progress our students have made this year during iReady testing next week.  If you need anything over the next few weeks, please let us know.
