MCMS Tuesday Staff Reminders - December 19, 2023

Good Afternoon MCMS,

Happy Winter Break Eve!  In less than 24 hours we will be on our much deserved break!  I want to thank everyone for your work over the first semester.  The work you do each day for our school is tremendous and our students benefit in so many ways from your impact.  Thank you also feedback, ideas, and suggestions over the last three weeks.  We are on a path toward constant improvement and we appreciate your involvement on helping us make the best decisions for our school.  Please feel free to send me any more ideas or thoughts about next semester or next year.

Thank you to our Sunshine Committee for the 12 Dress Days and the Nice List awards!  It has been fun dressing up and spreading a little holiday cheer over the last three weeks.  We look forward to finishing up our countdown with Pajama day and our Holiday Social!  We will see everyone in the Media Center at 11:45 AM or once your duty is finished.  We have a tasty lunch to start off everyone's Winter Break.  Remember, we will have our Ornament Exchange tomorrow as well!

  • This Week: 
    • Wednesday: Half Day for Students - 11:30 AM dismissal, Faculty Social @ 11:45 AM in the Media Center, and Girls/Boys Basketball AWAY @ Sandhills
    • Thursday: Winter Break!
    • Friday: Winter Break!
  • Happy Birthday! We wish a very happy birthday to those who celebrate this week!

  • January 5th Schedule - We look forward to seeing everyone back on January 5th for our professional learning day.  We will meet briefly in the Cafeteria to start the day.  We will also have our iReady representative on campus that day to work with us.   Some of you may have district meetings (SPED) and we will send you any information that you miss.  Below is our meeting schedule, we will update you with any changes to this meeting schedule.  If you are not scheduled for a meeting, you will have work time in your room or you can schedule your Mid-SLO Conference.  You will be scheduled to work until 3:30 PM as normal.  Please let us know if you have any questions.
    • 8:30 - 9:00 AM All Faculty Meeting in Cafeteria
    • 9:00 - 10:30 AM ELA and Math Meeting with iReady
    • 10:40 - 11:40 AM Science, Social Studies, and Related Arts Meeting with iReady
    • 11:50 - 12:30 PM Admin Meeting with iReady
  • Mid-SLO Conference - We will start our Mid-SLO Conferences on Friday, January 5th.  I will send details for this meeting in a separate email.  I will provide additional meeting opportunities during the week of January 8 - 12.
  • Ellevation Training Modules - Please make sure you are completing your Ellevation Training Modules, winter break would be a good time to check off some modules.  
  • Substitute Information: Please let Missy and myself know if you have any upcoming absences.  Personal leave will not be approved for the following days: December 20, January 5, and March 28.  Please let me know if you have any questions about absences or upcoming planned leaves.  Thank you for your planning for absences.
  • Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know today.

    Good Afternoon MCMS, We hope you had a great day!  The results are back from i-Ready testing and our students showed amazing growth!  Thank you for developing instructional plans that engage and challenge our students to grow.  I would also like to thank you for your work during enrichment time, your individual conferencing and emphasis on math this semester really showed in the results.     MCMS Staff Update - May 13 -17, 2024

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all of our MCMS Mom's have had a great day and enjoyed some much deserved pampering today!  We have made it to the single digits, only NINE more days of school left!  We are excited to kick off our Awards Ceremonies this week, please reach out to Wendy if you have any questions or needs.   We had a fun 8th Grade Dance on Friday night, thank you to all of the staff who worked hard in putting on this great event!  The students enjoyed getting dressed up and having one final dance together before high school. I may have missed something in this update, please reach out if you have any questions about the end of the year events, summer school, summer activities, or anything else.  There is a lot going on and we want you to have the information you need!
