MCMS Staff Update - January 22 - 26, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

We hope everyone is having a warm weekend and getting some rest after a great week.  Our Jr. Beta Club students and staff returned on Friday night from a successful trip to their state convention.  We are proud of the many accomplishments of these students and thankful for the dedication of the staff sponsors.

Our after-school program is up and running and has been going well.  We look forward to seeing positive changes in our students academic focus and achievement as they participate in this program.  We will continue to enroll students in this program as we have additional student needs and space available.

Make sure you are looking over the 2023-2024 MCMS Calendar for current activities and events on campus.  If we have any changes to the calendar, we will make sure to let everyone know.

Weekly Reminders

Instructional Focus - Writing- As I have had many great conversations during our Mid-Conference meetings, I wanted to share one instructional that teachers have had positive results in class.  Several teachers are seeing success in having focused and longer writing opportunities for students.  This may include writing a summary paragraph following an assignment or other activity that has the student give a longer written response.  Take a look at your instructional plans for the week and try and incorporate additional writing in your plans.
Parent Teach Conferences- Thank you for spending the extra time at school on the 25th and 26th to meet with our families.  Please let us know if you need us to attend any of your scheduled meetings or if you need anything else.
SLO Mid-Conference Meetings - I will open up additional times on my calendar for this week, 2023-2024 SLO Mid-Course Conference Sign Up Form.  You will need to complete the questions under the Mid-Course Conference tab in your SC Lead account.

Ellevation Training Reminder

  • After completing your module, implement one of the strategies and then reflect on that strategy.
  • The module completion and reflection should be on different days.  
  • Below are the Ellevation Training modules you will need to complete this school year:

MCMS Staff Update - May 13 -17, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all of our MCMS Mom's have had a great day and enjoyed some much deserved pampering today!  We have made it to the single digits, only NINE more days of school left!  We are excited to kick off our Awards Ceremonies this week, please reach out to Wendy if you have any questions or needs.   We had a fun 8th Grade Dance on Friday night, thank you to all of the staff who worked hard in putting on this great event!  The students enjoyed getting dressed up and having one final dance together before high school. I may have missed something in this update, please reach out if you have any questions about the end of the year events, summer school, summer activities, or anything else.  There is a lot going on and we want you to have the information you need!
