MCMS Staff Update - January 29 - February 2, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

Happy Friday!  Thank you for meeting with our parents over the last two days and working with them to help support our students.  Building those relationships and creating that ongoing communication, will go a long way in increasing student success in your classroom.  Please let us know if you have any parent or student concerns that we can provide assistance. 

Thank you for productive content meetings this week.  With changing of standards and state department updates, there is a lot going on in each of your areas.  Continue to let us know if there are any instructional resources that you need in your classroom, we are committed to helping you in any way we can.  

Make sure you are looking over the 2023-2024 MCMS Calendar for current activities and events on campus.  If we have any changes to the calendar, we will make sure to let everyone know.

Weekly Reminders

Medical Emergency Drills - We will have a surprise medical emergency drill in the next few weeks. Take a few minutes and talk with all of your classes about possible scenarios and who to contact in the event of an emergency situation.  This can include a situation in the classroom, hallway, or in transition between classes.  Please let Nurse Flynn know if you have any questions.

Facilities Update - All of our main access points should have the upgraded door entry system.  Students should have access using the new key pads and the current code (9124).  If you see any issues, please let the front office know.  Your ID will get you access to all new key pad doors, even after hours.  

After-School Dance Volunteers Needed (Comp Time!) - We are looking for a few teachers to assist in providing coverage for our After-School Dance on Friday, February 9th.  I will give you two and a half hours of comp time for assisting.  Please let me know if you are interested.

Grades/Assignments - Make sure you have a variety of grades and assignments.  Make sure you are increasing the rigor of your assessments throughout this semester as we get ready for end of the year state assessments. 

Enrichment Conversations - Thank you for having those one-on-one conversations with your students during enrichment.  Work with your team if you notice an ongoing concern with a student or notice an area of weakness that they should be aware of.  We want to address those concerns with appropriate support.

SLO Mid-Conference Meetings - If you have NOT met with me for your SLO Mid-Conference, please contact me for a time this week.

• After completing your module, implement one of the strategies and then reflect on that strategy.
• The module completion and reflection should be on different days.
