MCMS Tuesday Staff Update - January 16, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

I hope everyone had a great start to your week!  We would like to wish our good luck to our Jr. Beta Club as they leave for State Convention tomorrow.  Thank you to those teachers who are going on the trip and taking time away from there family.  We appreciate the sacrifice you make to give students this opportunity.

As we are reviewing school level data from our first semester, I want to congratulate everyone on an amazing job!  From the Winter iReady diagnostic, we were able to see growth in both Math and Reading.  Your instruction and work with our students are making a huge impact on their overall success.  Keep of the great work and we look forward to seeing this continued growth!

  • Happy Birthday! We wish a very happy birthday to those who celebrate this week!
    • No Birthdays (1/16)
  • Railroad Crossing Closings- Throughout the next two months, they will be repairing all railroad crossings in our area.  It doesn't appear that the crossings close to MCMS will be impacted until the end of February to first of March.  The crossing at 773 has a preliminary closing date of March 1st.  Look out for more information in the next few weeks.
  • 2nd Nine Weeks Honor Roll- Refer to the email from Wendy Shealy for 2nd nine weeks honor roll.  We will have those awards ceremonies on January 24th.  
  • Mid-SLO Conference - I am going to open up for days for SLO conferences next week.  Please schedule your mid conference on the 2023-2024 SLO Mid-Course Conference Sign Up form.  Refer to the MCMS SLO Mid-Course Conference Review Questions document for guidance on completing your needed information.
  • Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.
  • Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.
  • Next Week: 
    • Monday: Girls/Boys Basketball HOME vs. Newberry @ 5:30 PM and SDNC School Board Meeting
    • Tuesday: Team Meetings @ Planning with Eric/Katie
    • Wednesday: Awards Day (8:15 8th and 8:45 6th/7th) and PL - Content Meetings @ 3:30 PM
    • Thursday:  Parent Teacher Conferences from 3:30 - 7:00 PM (Dinner provided)
    • Friday: No Students- Parent Teacher Conferences from 7:30 - 11:30 AM (you can leave after 11:30 AM)
    Professional Learning- Third Quarter:
    Below are the remaining Wednesday Professional Learning dates for the Third quarter.  The dates highlighted in yellow will be full faculty.  I will send additional information and reminders.

    Good Afternoon MCMS, We hope you had a great day!  The results are back from i-Ready testing and our students showed amazing growth!  Thank you for developing instructional plans that engage and challenge our students to grow.  I would also like to thank you for your work during enrichment time, your individual conferencing and emphasis on math this semester really showed in the results.     MCMS Staff Update - May 13 -17, 2024

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all of our MCMS Mom's have had a great day and enjoyed some much deserved pampering today!  We have made it to the single digits, only NINE more days of school left!  We are excited to kick off our Awards Ceremonies this week, please reach out to Wendy if you have any questions or needs.   We had a fun 8th Grade Dance on Friday night, thank you to all of the staff who worked hard in putting on this great event!  The students enjoyed getting dressed up and having one final dance together before high school. I may have missed something in this update, please reach out if you have any questions about the end of the year events, summer school, summer activities, or anything else.  There is a lot going on and we want you to have the information you need!
