MCMS Staff Update - February 5 - 9, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

Happy February!  The third quarter is going by quickly and interims are just around the corner.  Thank you for your work during our committee meetings this week.  A lot of great ideas and plans were generated that will continue to build on a great year.  If you have any additional ideas on how we can improve our school, please let us know.

Make sure you are looking over the 2023-2024 MCMS Calendar for current activities and events on campus.  If we have any changes to the calendar, we will make sure to let everyone know.  

Below are updates and reminders for this coming week, February 5th - 9th.  Please let me know if you have any questions about this email, upcoming events, classroom supplies, or anything else.  We are here to support you!

Weekly Reminders

After-School Dance Volunteers Needed (Comp Time!) - We have a few volunteers for the dance but are looking for a few more teachers to assist in providing coverage for our After-School Dance on Friday, February 9th.  I will give you two and a half hours of comp time for assisting.  Please let me know if you are interested.
i-Ready Lessons Passed - Our push for the remainder of the year will be on i-Ready lessons passed.  We will be rolling out a school wide incentive program next week.  The incentives will build as students pass more lessons.  We believe that this individual work will help them grow in all areas of academic performance.  As a school, we still need to increase our total amount of i-Ready minutes and we will continue to monitor those times.
Individual Student Progress - Thank you for continuing to have individual student progress checks during i-Ready time and during your classes.  Consistent monitoring will help hold students accountable and keep them on track for success in your classroom. 
SLO Mid-Conference Meetings - If you have NOT met with me for your SLO Mid-Conference, please contact me for a time this week.

Ellevation Training Reminder

  • After completing your module, implement one of the strategies and then reflect on that strategy.
  • The module completion and reflection should be on different days.  
  • Below are the Ellevation Training modules you will need to complete this school year:
  • Semester 1: Pathway- Understanding Multilingual Learners: 
    • Intro to LTELs (Q1)

Good Afternoon MCMS, We hope you had a great day!  The results are back from i-Ready testing and our students showed amazing growth!  Thank you for developing instructional plans that engage and challenge our students to grow.  I would also like to thank you for your work during enrichment time, your individual conferencing and emphasis on math this semester really showed in the results. MCMS Staff Update - May 13 -17, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all of our MCMS Mom's have had a great day and enjoyed some much deserved pampering today!  We have made it to the single digits, only NINE more days of school left!  We are excited to kick off our Awards Ceremonies this week, please reach out to Wendy if you have any questions or needs.   We had a fun 8th Grade Dance on Friday night, thank you to all of the staff who worked hard in putting on this great event!  The students enjoyed getting dressed up and having one final dance together before high school. I may have missed something in this update, please reach out if you have any questions about the end of the year events, summer school, summer activities, or anything else.  There is a lot going on and we want you to have the information you need!
