MCMS Staff Update - March 11 - 15, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

I hope everyone is enjoying a quiet weekend and getting some extra rest!  We concluded another busy week at MCMS and are almost three quarters way through our school year.  We look forward to i-Ready testing this week and seeing how much our students have grown.  As a thank you for the work you have done with our students in i-Ready, I would like to extend a Jeans Day for all staff on Monday and Wednesday!

We will run testing just like we did for the Fall and Winter assessments.  Please let Jared know if you have any questions.  It is all hands on deck, please let us know immediately if you have an unexpected absence either of these days.

Make sure you are looking over the 2023-2024 MCMS Calendar for current activities and events on campus.  If we have any changes to the calendar, we will make sure to let everyone know.

Weekly Reminders

• Classroom/Hallway Cleaning - Thank you for bringing the classroom cleaning issues to our attention.  We have noticed the same issues from our night cleaning staff throughout the building.  We have documented this on our monthly report and reached out to the supervisor to make him aware.  Keep us updated on those concerns.
• Standing at Classroom Doors - You should be standing at your classroom doors during all transition times.  This eliminates the potential for hallway issues and assistance in smooth transitions.  Please let Admin know if there is an area or transition that you need help from us.
• Agendas, IDs, Gum/Candy, and Right Side of the Hall - Continue to enforce our daily procedures and rules.  Putting attention on the small stuff, will help avoid larger discipline issues.  We are seeing more gum on the floors in the hallway and candy wrappers around the school.  Again, let the Admin know of any suggestions or areas we can help with this enforcement.
• i-Ready After Testing - We will continue to push the use of i-Ready in the 4th quarter.  Math and ELA teachers can begin to assign lessons that will help students prepare for upcoming state testing.  We will still push our incentives and celebrate students as they pass lessons!
• Computer Device Collection Date - April 22nd - We will collect student devices on April 22nd to get ready for State Testing.  All students will become day users at that point.  Stacey and Jared will have more information for this as we get closer.
• Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.
• Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.

• After completing your module, implement one of the strategies and then reflect on that strategy.
• The module completion and reflection should be on different days.
