MCMS Staff Update - March 18 - 22, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

Happy St. Patrick's Day Weekend!  It was a very successful week of benchmark testing!  There were a lot of gains by our students and they were so proud of their accomplishments.  It was inspiring to hear the students talk among themselves about their scores and how much they grew.  That is directly related to the emphasis you are putting on this instructional tool.  

(I thought he looked a little like me, I am bald according to our students!)

I also want to say thank you and congratulations, we reached our school i-Ready Minutes on Task and Lessons Passed goals for the month of February!  You have done a great job tracking our students and holding them accountable for their work with this program.  Keep up the good work, we don't want to let up now.

Make sure you are looking over the 2023-2024 MCMS Calendar for current activities and events on campus.  If we have any changes to the calendar, we will make sure to let everyone know.

Staff Action Items

To help provide clarity about specific tasks you need to complete, I am going to add a Staff Action Item section.  These are to be complete this week or reminders that related to district initiatives. 

• Team/Individual Content Planning Time - As we close out the school year, the administration team would like to step up our support.  We would like to pop into your weekly team/individual planning times to see how we can assist.  Please email me your weekly grade level content team planning time (day of the week and general time).  I know some of you meet each day, give me the primary day of the week that you use for planning.  If you are an individual content area, please send your planning time as well.  Please send me this information by the end of enrichment time on Monday (3/18).
• Respond to Katie's Email - Respond to Katie's email related to classroom furniture.
• Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Additional Reminders

• Enrichment Change - To help with coverage issues, we have adjusted enrichment.  Please refer to Jared's email for specific information.
• Final SLO Conferences - We will be sending final SLO conference information soon.  I would encourage you to begin reviewing your i-Ready results and comparing to your SLO goal.  You can log into SCLEAD.ORG and look at the Final Conference information if you would like to get ahead on your documentation.  
• i-Ready Push! - Continue to push i-Ready MyPath and keep monitoring students progress.  Math and ELA teachers have begun assigning lessons that will help students prepare for upcoming state testing.  Our goal is to continue our progress with lessons passed and overall student growth.
• Computer Device Collection Date - April 22nd - We will collect student devices on April 22nd to get ready for State Testing.  All students will become day users at that point.  Stacey and Jared will have more information for this as we get closer.
• Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.

• The module completion and reflection should be on different days.
