MCMS Staff Update - March 25 - 29, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

Happy Weekend!  We have almost made it, Spring Break is less than a week away!  March has been a very busy month and we appreciate the energy you have brought with your teaching each day.  The end of the year will be here soon and we've got this!

We would like to congratulate our MCMS Academic Team for being State Runners-Up at the State Championships for Academics today!  Our students have worked so hard throughout the season and we are proud of them.  Thank you to Janna, Lindsay, and Jamie for your dedication with this team!

Good luck to our Band as they will perform in Concert Performance Assessment on Tuesday.  We would also like to wish good luck to Archery as they compete in the state archery meet on Thursday.  We have a lot to be proud of and we are excited for both groups to show how amazing they are!

Thank you to the Sunshine Committee for putting together a fun week of Spring Break Dress Days!  We look forward to seeing the awesome outfits, bring on Spring Break!

Staff Action Items

These are to be complete this week or reminders that related to district initiatives. 

• SLO Final Conference Sign Up - Please sign up for a SLO Final Conference time.  For more information, please refer to the email I sent out on Wednesday.  
• Club Day Needs - Please let Jared know if you need anything for Club Day on Wednesday.  We will only have one more Club Day for the year (April 17th).
• Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Additional Reminders

• Student Concerns - Reach out to Katie or Eric if you have a student discipline concern or question.  We want to support you and make sure we are helping in any way we can with those challenging students.  Keep emphasizing our classroom behavior system and documenting (and communicating) the behaviors.
• i-Ready Push, Push, Push! - Make sure we are getting our i-Ready time (and lessons passed!) this week and quarter.  Please keep monitoring student progress and having those individual data conversations.  Talk with students about their results from the i-Ready benchmark and celebrate their successes.  
• Parent Communication - Thank you for reaching out to parents with concerns, celebrations, and anything else related to their student.  Keep establishing that communication with the parent, it is 4th quarter and students may need the extra push.
• Computer Device Collection Date - April 22nd - We will collect student devices on April 22nd to get ready for State Testing.  All students will become day users at that point.  Stacey and Jared will have more information for this as we get closer.
• Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.

• After completing your module, implement one of the strategies and then reflect on that strategy.
• The module completion and reflection should be on different days.
