MCMS Tuesday Staff Update - March 12, 2024

Good Evening MCMS,

Happy Tuesday!  I hope you are having a great week and enjoying the longer daylight hours!  It was great seeing and hearing the excitement from our students with i-Ready results on Monday.  I know tomorrow will be more of the same and we will continue to see growth.  Please look over the emails from Jared for testing tomorrow and any makeup information.  Also, make sure you have grades updated before we print report cards.

Tuesday Updates and Reminders:
  • This Week: 
    • Wednesday: End of 3rd Nine Weeks, i-Ready Math, and PL - Leadership Team Meeting
    • Thursday:  
    • Friday: Report Cards Issued and Positive Behavior Celebration during RA
  • Happy Birthday! We wish a very happy birthday to those who celebrate this week!
    • No Birthdays (3/6)
  • Ring Day for 7th Grade - We will send more information to 7th grade teachers about this event.  Students will learn about options for purchasing a middle school ring through Jostens.  This will occur during Enrichment time on March 19th.
  • Job Shadowing Day Class Instruction - On Friday, March 22nd our students will have the opportunity to participate in Job Shadowing.  This is a voluntary opportunity and a great way for students to see potential careers.  On that day, you will still be expected to have normal classroom instruction for students that are present.  Plan your instruction and instructional activities as you would for any other day.  If a student is missing that day, they are allowed to complete missed work as they would for any school approved absence.  Please let me know if you have any questions about this.  
  • Test Training - We will have our end of the year test training on Wednesday, April 24th at 1:30 PM.  This a mandatory session for all staff.
  • Computer Device Collection Date - April 22nd - We will collect student devices on April 22nd to get ready for State Testing.  All students will become day users at that point.  This gives us time to put work orders in and have those devices ready for testing.  Stacey and Jared will have more information for this as we get closer.
  • Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.
  • Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.

    MCMS Staff Update - May 13 -17, 2024

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all of our MCMS Mom's have had a great day and enjoyed some much deserved pampering today!  We have made it to the single digits, only NINE more days of school left!  We are excited to kick off our Awards Ceremonies this week, please reach out to Wendy if you have any questions or needs.   We had a fun 8th Grade Dance on Friday night, thank you to all of the staff who worked hard in putting on this great event!  The students enjoyed getting dressed up and having one final dance together before high school. I may have missed something in this update, please reach out if you have any questions about the end of the year events, summer school, summer activities, or anything else.  There is a lot going on and we want you to have the information you need!     Good Evening MCMS, I hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving break!  We have an exciting few weeks in December and look forward to several fun dress days to get us in the holiday spirit!  We are also excited to see the great progress our students have made this year during iReady testing next week.  If you need anything over the next few weeks, please let us know.
