MCMS Staff Update - April 15 - 19, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

Happy Weekend!  We made it through another amazing and very busy week at school.  Only 29 days left until the end of the year, we can do this!  Thank you for productive team meetings yesterday, I appreciate your input, feedback, and suggestions.  We are in this together, please do not hesitate to reach out if you need anything or if you would like additional follow up on a topic we discussed.  We are here to support you!

Personnel Update - We are close to filling all positions for next year and are excited about the new hires we have coming into MCMS.  We do have one internal move, Mrs. Kelly will be moving from Gateway to 8th grade science next year.  Mrs. Kelly previously taught 8th grade science and will be a perfect fit for replacing Mrs. Adams.  This leaves an opening for our Gateway class.  These will be big shoes to fill, Mrs. Kelly has done a tremendous job with our Gateway program and I am committed finding a quality replacement.  If you have anyone you know that may be interested, please send me their name.  

Make sure you are looking over the 2023-2024 MCMS Calendar for current activities and events on campus.  If we have any changes to the calendar, we will make sure to let everyone know.

Staff Action Items

These are to be complete this week or reminders that related to district initiatives. 

• Securely Digital Hall Pass- We will begin using our new digital hall pass system on Monday.  We know there will be a learning curve, please send me any suggestions or concerns for this program.  Thank you to Jared for giving a tutorial on how to use this and completing all of the background work.  Refer to the document he sent our for information on how to begin.  We are ONLY using this for Restroom and Water at this time.  
• Club Day - We will have our last Club Day on Wednesday, please reach out if you need anything.
• Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Additional Reminders

• i-Ready Club Day Requirements - For students to be eligible for Club Day on Wednesday, they will need to have ONE Math Lesson Passed and ONE Reading Lesson Passed during this new rotation (beginning 4/15) before Wednesday at 12:00 PM.  
• i-Ready Rewards - For the i-Ready rotation that ended today, Jared will be sending information out about when students will be able to retrieve rewards.  We are proud of the hard work from all of our students!
• Computer Device Collection Date - April 22nd - We will collect student devices on April 22nd to get ready for State Testing.  All students will become day users at that point.  Stacey and Jared will have more information for this as we get closer.
• Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.

• After completing your module, implement one of the strategies and then reflect on that strategy.
• The module completion and reflection should be on different days.
