MCMS Staff Update - April 22 - 26, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

Happy Friday!  Thank you for working through a few different schedules over the last two weeks (especially 8th grade!).  I know schedule changes can be challenging and get students off there routine.  We wrapped up our final Club Day of the year with great success, thank you for giving our students a creative outlet.  Thank you for making a final push in your preparation of students for state testing.  If there is anything you need over the last five weeks of school, please let me know and I would be happy to help!

Make sure you are looking over the 2023-2024 MCMS Calendar for current activities and events on campus.  If we have any changes to the calendar, we will make sure to let everyone know.  

Below are updates and reminders for this coming week, April 22nd - 26th.  Please let me know if you have any questions about this email, upcoming events, classroom supplies, or anything else.  We are here to support you!

Staff Action Items

These are to be complete this week or reminders that related to district initiatives. 
  • Update Grades by Monday- Please make sure all grades are updated before we print interims on Monday. Helpful Hint- See the email from Jared related to syncing from Schoology.
  • Summer Reading Selection Forms - On Monday, you will receive summer reading forms to pass out to students.  These forms will need to be returned to school by Friday, April 26th. Forms will be delivered to your classroom this weekend.  Please place all returned forms in Erin Briggs box.
  • Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Additional Reminders

  • Computer Device Collection Date - April 29th - UPDATE: We will collect student devices on April 29th to get ready for State Testing.  All students will become day users at that point.
  • Summer Reading Forms - On Monday, you will receive summer reading forms to pass out to students.  These forms will need to be returned to school by Friday, April 26th.  Forms will be delivered to your classroom this weekend.  Please place all returned forms in Erin Briggs box.  
  • Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.

Ellevation Training Reminder

  • After completing your module, implement one of the strategies and then reflect on that strategy.
  • The module completion and reflection should be on different days.  
  • Below are the Ellevation Training modules you will need to complete this school year:

    • Intro to LTELs (Q1)

MCMS Staff Update - May 13 -17, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all of our MCMS Mom's have had a great day and enjoyed some much deserved pampering today!  We have made it to the single digits, only NINE more days of school left!  We are excited to kick off our Awards Ceremonies this week, please reach out to Wendy if you have any questions or needs.   We had a fun 8th Grade Dance on Friday night, thank you to all of the staff who worked hard in putting on this great event!  The students enjoyed getting dressed up and having one final dance together before high school. I may have missed something in this update, please reach out if you have any questions about the end of the year events, summer school, summer activities, or anything else.  There is a lot going on and we want you to have the information you need!
