MCMS Tuesday Staff Update - April 16, 2024

Good Afternoon MCMS,

Happy Tuesday!  I hope everyone is having a great week and enjoying the summer like weather!  Our 8th grade had a great visit to MCHS today, they were all nervous and excited to get on campus for the first time.  We are excited to announce that Cori Rebmann will be coming back to MCMS to teach 6th grade math!  Cori has spent the last year as a Special Education teacher at LME and is excited to comeback to the MCMS family.  With that hire, we are almost fully staffed for the 2024-2025 school year.

As we close out the 2023-2024 school year, please continue to share feedback and ideas on how we can improve our support of you for next year.  We will be looking for additional feedback as we continue to make plans.  This is an amazing school staff, great students, and an awesome community!

Staff Action Items

To help provide clarity about specific tasks you need to complete, I am going to add a Staff Action Item section.  These is week or reminders that related to district initiatives. 

  • Securely Reminder- The new pass system seems to be going well and students are settling into using the system.  Please look over Jared's email for helpful tips.  Some students are selecting the incorrect location based on their hallway, please make sure you are looking at the destination as you are allowing them out of class.  Thank you for giving this system a chance, continue to let us know if you have any additional feedback.
  • Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.  I will be following up to see individual progress on these modules.

Additional Reminders

  • Taking Personal Days in May- With the end of the year approaching, I wanted to send out an update related to staff taking personal days during May.  Board Policy allows employees to take, supervisor approved, personal days during the year with certain exceptions.  A couple of those exceptions include not taking a day during testing periods and the last week of the school year.  With a short May, limited available subs, and those two exceptions, I am limiting Personal Days to only those staff members who are going to a child's  graduation or award ceremonies.  This does not include anyone needing to take a sick day for yourself/child or go to a medical appointment.  Your health and your families health is a priority to me.  Any personal time taken during the second half of April, will need to have a sub assigned before getting approved.  If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to me and I would be happy to talk with you.
  • Computer Device Collection Date - April 22nd - We will collect student devices on April 22nd to get ready for State Testing.  All students will become day users at that point.  Stacey and Jared will have more information for this as we get closer.
  • Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.
  • Next Week:

    • Tuesday: Interims issued, Team Meetings with Eric/Katie, and Virtual Parent Institute

    Below are the remaining Wednesday Professional Learning dates for the Fourth quarter. I will send additional information and reminders.

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!  I hope you have had a great week and enjoyed the treats for Teacher Appreciation Week!  We are counting down the days until the end of the year, it will be here before we know it.  Let us know if you have any questions about events taking place over the last two weeks of school.  12 days to go, we can do it!     Good Afternoon MCMS, I hope everyone has had a great day and has had a chance to enjoy the beautiful sunshine!  We are quickly moving through the 3rd quarter and excited to see the continued academic growth of our students.  Thank you for having engaging lessons and rigorous assessments that help challenge our students to reach their potential!     MCMS Tuesday Update - March 19, 2024

    Good Afternoon MCMS, We hope you had a great day!  The results are back from i-Ready testing and our students showed amazing growth!  Thank you for developing instructional plans that engage and challenge our students to grow.  I would also like to thank you for your work during enrichment time, your individual conferencing and emphasis on math this semester really showed in the results. We would like to wish our MCMS Academic Team good luck as they compete for the State Championship on Friday.  The students have worked hard to get ready and we would like to thank the sponsors for your dedication to this group.  Let's Go MCMS!
