MCMS Tuesday Staff Update - May 21, 2024

 Good Afternoon MCMS,

Happy LAST Full day of the year!  I hope everyone enjoyed Field Day, I know the students had a fun time and congratulations to the HR winners!  Let us know if you need anything over these next two days, Thursday at 11:30 AM will be here before we know it!

Personnel Update:  We like to announce that Jared Jones has received a much deserved promotion for 2024-2025!  Jared will be transitioning from his role as curriculum coordinator to a district technology position with the Office of Instruction.  This is a tremendous gain for our district and we are excited for him!  We will miss Jared and the impact he has on MCMS!  Congratulations Jared!

  • This Week: 
    • Wednesday: Half Day for Students 11:30 AM Dismissal and Grades Due
    • Thursday:  LAST DAY OF STUDENTS!! Half Day for Students 11:30 AM Dismissal, and End of the Year Social @ 1:00 PM
    • Friday: MCHS Graduation, Teacher Workday, and End-of-Year Checkout Due by 11:00 AM
  • Happy Birthday! We wish a very happy birthday to those who celebrate this week!
    • No Birthdays (5/7)

Staff Action Items

  • End-of-Year Checkout - Here is the End-of-Year Checkout Form, complete this by the Friday at 11:00 AM.
  • Computer Change Out - For those staff members returning to MCMS next year, please see the information from Stacey regarding changing your computer out.
  • End of the Year Meetings with Dobyns - As we close this year out, I look forward to having End of the Year Meetings with staff.  Here is the link to schedule your End of the Year Meeting with me.  This is not required but I would love to sit down with all staff at some point before you leave for the summer.  
  • Ellevation Training Modules - Please complete your Ellevation modules for Semester 1 and Semester 2.  

Additional Reminders

  • Boxes - If you are looking for boxes to pack up your classroom, the district has delivered moving boxes to the hallway near the media center.
  • Grades - Grades are due tomorrow, May 22nd!  Please read Jared's emails for additional information.
  • Facility Needs:  If you have any facility needs, email Eric, Katie, and me.  If you need desks, please let us know as soon as possible.

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all of our MCMS Mom's have had a great day and enjoyed some much deserved pampering today!  We have made it to the single digits, only NINE more days of school left!  We are excited to kick off our Awards Ceremonies this week, please reach out to Wendy if you have any questions or needs.   We had a fun 8th Grade Dance on Friday night, thank you to all of the staff who worked hard in putting on this great event!  The students enjoyed getting dressed up and having one final dance together before high school.     Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!  I hope you have had a great week and enjoyed the treats for Teacher Appreciation Week!  We are counting down the days until the end of the year, it will be here before we know it.  Let us know if you have any questions about events taking place over the last two weeks of school.  12 days to go, we can do it! Congratulations MCMS TOY and SSEOY! We would like to once again congratulate Honey Wilson for being voted 2024-2025 Teacher of the year and Jonathan Butler for being voted 2024-2025 Support Staff Employee of the Year!  We are thankful for your impact on our school! Teacher Appreciation Week 2024 We hope you enjoy a Popcorn and Water Bar tomorrow after testing, courtesy of MCMS PTO!  The bar will be set up in the 7th grade conference room.  Enjoy!     MCMS Staff Update - March 18 - 22, 2024

    Good Afternoon MCMS, Happy St. Patrick's Day Weekend!  It was a very successful week of benchmark testing!  There were a lot of gains by our students and they were so proud of their accomplishments.  It was inspiring to hear the students talk among themselves about their scores and how much they grew.  That is directly related to the emphasis you are putting on this instructional tool.   (I thought he looked a little like me, I am bald according to our students!) I also want to say thank you and congratulations, we reached our school i-Ready Minutes on Task and Lessons Passed goals for the month of February!  You have done a great job tracking our students and holding them accountable for their work with this program.  Keep up the good work, we don't want to let up now.
